Ferrari has selected Bridgestone as one of its original equipment suppliers of tyres for the FF four-wheel drive sports car. Supplies of the Potenza S001 sport tyres to the Maranello manufacturer started at the end of 2011.
“The Ferrari FF’s all-wheel drive performance with V12 power and 660 CV puts special demands on a tyre, and Bridgestone is delighted that the Potenza S001 was chosen for the job,” says Edwin Van der Stad, Director Sales, Consumer Business Unit, Bridgestone Europe.
Potenza S001 is the flagship Bridgestone UHP sport tyre, designed to give the world’s most powerful sports cars exhilarating control and quick-fire response. With its light belt construction and reduced rolling resistance the tyre also delivers good fuel efficiency. Potenza S001 is already one of the factory’s standard tyres available on the 570 CV Ferrari 458 Italia.
Bridgestone has developed tyres for Ferrari and supplied original equipment to Maranello production cars since the Ferrari 348 in 1990. Many of Ferrari’s flagship models have been fitted with Bridgestone tyres, including the Enzo Ferrari and Superamerica.
