Unbeatable in wet and snow
Testing Blizzak LM-32s against four leading major-brand competitors, the TÜV SÜD results picked out the new Blizzak for its wet performance and established it as clear winner in wet braking, lateral wet grip and straight-line aquaplaning resistance. The Blizzak also beat all competitors in dry braking and was joint leader in snow braking performance.
New technologies applied to pattern and compound have resulted in an overall strong snow performance (braking and acceleration) and outstanding wet performance. Superior results in braking safety on wet and dry have also been achieved thanks to a new sipe layout of constant depth which helps to create even pattern stiffness under braking conditions.
The new Blizzak LM-32 s will be available in Germany, Switzerland and Austria – Europe’s biggest market for lamellen Winter tyres – in 8 key 17 and 18-inch sizes as of August 2013. As of September 2013, the LM-32s is also available in East Region2 in size 235/45 R17.
Comprehensive Blizzak line-up
This latest sporty member of the Blizzak family adds depth to a premium line-up that provides motorists with high-level performance in all winter conditions and regions – from Blizzak LM-32 for passenger cars and Blizzak LM-80 EVO for SUVs and 4x4s in continental European winter conditions to Blizzak WS70 and Spike-01.
History of excellence
The LM-32s continues Blizzak’s strong run of success in independent performance tests. Blizzak LM-80 was on top in Germany’s ADAC/ÖAMTC/TCS 2012 winter SUV/CUV tyre tests3, gaining the coveted “very recommendable” label from Europe’s largest federation of automobile clubs. LM-80 received top grades for ice performance and fuel efficiency, supported by very good grades in snow and wet braking. Blizzak LM-80 also claimed the n° 1 spot in ACE (Auto Club Europe) and GTÜ (German Association for Technical Inspection) 2012 winter SUV tyre tests.
The Blizzak LM-32 was also a winner in AutoBild4 ratings where it was one of only 3 brands out of 42 to receive the highest rating of “very recommendable” for overall performance. In addition, the tyre received the top position in the ADAC/ÖAMTC/TCS5 snow ranking.
“All these independent tests confirm that Bridgestone’s premium Blizzak tyres provide motorists with very high-levels of safety in all types of winter conditions” says José Enrique Gonzalez, Director Consumer Marketing, Bridgestone Europe.
Blizzak tyres are developed and tested at Bridgestone’s European winter proving ground at Vidsel, northern Sweden. More than 170 million Blizzak tyres have been sold worldwide since the brand’s introduction in 1988.
