A dedicated bank account has been set up, into which employees are voluntarily making a donation, of any amount, until the end of March. The total employee contribution will be matched by the company. In addition, Bridgestone Europe has decided to donate €250,000 to the fund.
All of the collected money will be transferred to the Japanese Red Cross to be used to relieve the consequences of the recent devastating earthquake and tsunami.
Bridgestone group companies and employees world wide are responding to the disaster relief activities, including the initiative announced in Japan by the Group headquarters to contribute 300 million yen (around €2.6 million) in both money and goods.
