Technical Service Engineer

Brief

As a Technical Service Engineer, you provide support to our Retreading business in our Commercial team (Truck and Bus tires). You ensure both hands-on support to our franchisee customers on the field (mainly France and Benelux area, with additional support in other European countries) as follow-up on orders and interventions with our local service engineers on European level.

You assure the coordination of all required technical support to our Bandag franchisees in the France & Benelux area, allowing our clients to efficiently produce high quality retread tires within the process standards. This includes installation, trouble-shooting and repairing of equipment.

On European level (focus on France, Benelux and Germany) you ensure all technical field support, including installations of new equipment and upgrade kits, preventive maintenance on major equipment, product and equipment testing and monitoring of new equipment performance.

You are also in charge of supporting the local technical service engineers by handling remote service interventions and breakdown diagnosis. This includes the follow-up on spare-part ordering and delivery, logging of calls for equipment breakdown interventions and follow-up with technical service engineers on intervention until completion.

You contribute to different improvement projects on European level and ensure a correct implementation in collaboration with the local service engineers. 

Requirements:

Education (type & level):
Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical), or any other related technical field 

Professional experience:
You can benefit from a minimum 2-3 years in a similar hands-on role, ideally in an international environment

Specific behaviour & attitudes:

  • You are quality conscious and service oriented, with excellent analytical and communication skills
  • High level of flexibility in terms of mindset, work organization and travel (up to 40%)
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently, ability to combine on the field technical service work with office coordination and administrative duties
  • You are able to balance corporate objectives and customer needs
  • You are able to combine on the field

Languages:
Fluent in English and French, a good level in German and Dutch are considered a strong asset

IT skills: 
Good level in necessary computer applications (MS Office tools)
